Be Your Best Self...
Welcome students!
Thank you for visiting my classjump page, and I look forward to the success we will have this semester! As you learn to master an engaging curriculum, we will work together to become the best we can be. Leonardo da Vinci said, “I have been impressed with the urgency of doing. Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Being willing is not enough; we must do.” I believe this whole-heartedly, and my goal this year is to help you not only gain knowledge, but apply that knowledge, as you become your best self. After all, in the words of President Abraham Lincoln, “I do the very best I know how, the very best I can, and I mean to keep on doing so until the end.” I hope each of you will follow that same creed.
Advanced Yearbook/Newspaper
Our journalism class makes up the entire Newspaper Staff of "The Voyager Tell", and the entire Yearbook Staff of "The Compass". This is a challenging and rigorous course that will provide you with some of your best experiences here at Renaissance.
This semester, we will work on final deadlines to send our yearbook to print before Spring Break, as well as on online version of the school newspaper.
Academy Leadership
Leadership is a one-semester course in which students will be introduced to core principals of leadership: teamwork, communication skills, time management, and organizational skills. Students will practice these skills by completing various projects to better the school and community.
U.S. History Semester 2
This semester we are continuing our look at American History from the Gilded Age to present. The course is designed to introduce students to American history through the analysis of the key political, social, economic, and cultural events and themes that have had a significant impact on the United States. This will be accomplished through the following topics this semester: UNIT C- Boom and Bust: The Gilded Age to the Great Depression (1877-1939) · Chapter 5- Cities and Growth · Chapter 6- Conflict and Cooperation UNIT D- Power and Influence: WWII through the Modern Age (1940-current) · Chapter 7- 20th Century Conflicts · Chapter 8- Technology and Change |
